Gokyo Chola Pass with Everest base camp trekking is also known as Everest Circuit trek. We head  the route via high pass of Cho La at 5,330m into the Base Camp of Mount Everest. This trekking explores the friendly Sherpa villages, monasteries, wildlife and dramatic mountain scenery of the area. In this trips  You will experience the breathtaking flight to Lukla. The Namchebazzar the gateway to Everest Region is great town. The Tyangboche Monastery where all the mountaineers get blessed from the supreme Monk is nice to enjoy. The Gokyo Lake is great & beautiful lake in the Himalaya. The view of Everest from Kalapatthar is fabulous. Upon arrival in the Kathmandu airport (TIA), you will be greeted by a representative from Himalayan Discovery at the arrival gate. You will be then transferred to the hotel. After check in, you can either take rest; hang around in the city as it all depends upon your interests. In the evening, we will organize a Welcome Dinner at an excellent traditional Nepalese restaurant where you will enjoy a Nepalese cultural program as well as a fine meal.

Today after breakfast we will start a guided tour to several of the most historical and spiritual attractions in Kathmandu. Some of these landmarks are considered the World Heritage Sites; including the historic Durbar Square, the sacred Hindu temple of Pashupati Nath, the famous 'Monkey Temple' (Swayambunath) and Buddhists shrine (Buddha Nath) which is one of the largest Stupas in the world. In the afternoon, there will be a pre-trip discussion where we can meet our trek leader and other team members.

Today it is the starting day of your adventurous journey to Gokyo Chola Pass and Everest Base Camp Trek. Early in the morning, you will be picked up from the hotel and drop you to the airport for your memorable and scenic flight to Lukla. As the gentle wind blows in the afternoon, all the flights are scheduled in the morning. Flight with the dramatic views continues for about thirty-five minutes before landing at Lukla, the gateway to the Khumbu Region. Lukla airport lies in the hillside surrounded by the high mountain peaks. The trek begins from the prosperous village of Lukla, that passes through the stone paved trail towards Bhaisekharka. The trail moves through the pine and rhododendron forests along the side of Dudh Koshi River. Today you will be passing many ups and down with several mani walls and also many settlements like Thado Kashigaon, Ghat, Nurning and finally reach to Phakding. Overnight stay at Lodge

After crossing the suspension bridge, you will follow the upward trail to Monjo, from where the Sagarmatha National Park begins. Your trekking permits are checked in checked here in order to keep record of trekkers and local trekking staffs. The trail descends and a gradual walk brings you to Jorsale, the last village before reaching Namche Bazaar. Passing through the riverbeds, forests of rhododendron and hillary suspension bridge, you will reach at Namche. On the way, you will have the magnificient view of Kusum Kanggru (6369m), Thamserku (6608m), Everest (8848m) and Nuptse (7879m) mountains. Namche is the main center of Khumbu Region that holds government offices, internet cafes, shops, ATM centers, bakery shops and a colorful market every Fridays and Saturdays. Overnight stay at Lodge

This is the day for acclimatization in order to synchronize your body with the changing altitude. You can hike to Kongde village. Remaining of the day can be spent exploring Namche Bazaar. You can enjoy the views of Mt. Everest and surroundings peaks with Sherpa culture. You can also visit Tourist Visitor Center where you can observe an assortment of things related to the first Everest ascenders, Sherpa culture and learn about the various plants and animals' life of the Everest region. With the Himalayan breakfast at Namche, you will start your trek towards Gokyo Region, passing through the Chortens with the grand views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Kangtenga, Kusum Kangaru, Tawache and the close up view of Thamserku. The trek continues with some ups and downs with an opportunity to see some wild lives such as musk deer, Himalayan thar, pheasant etc. The trail slowly ascends passing through the some Sherpa villages like Khyangjuma and Sansa. Sansa is the junction for the trail to Khumjung, Gokyo Valley and Tengboche. Now the trail starts ascending through Monga hill and to Phortse Thanga from where you can see the best view of snowcapped mountains in the clear days. You may have lunch at Phortse Thanga. After a lunch, the trek continues through forests, some waterfalls and bridges to reach Dhole, a small settlement with few lodges. Overnight stay at Lodge

The trail ascends steadily through a scenic ridge above Dhole, climbing via Lhabarma (4330m). The route passes through many summer settlements and charming hamlet of Luza (4360m), offering the good views of Thamserku, Cho Oyu and Kantega. The track further continues along the hill and above the thundering Dudhkoshi, crossing the sandy spurs, you will reach at Machhermo, a major settlement on the way up to Gokyo. People got the first sighting of Yeti in 1974 at this place. You will visit the Himalayan Rescue Hospital with the majestic view of Machhermo.

Today you will follow the trail that climbs through a ridge from where an excellent view of both down the valley and also the view of Kangtega, northern part of Cho-Oyu and Thamserku and some other snowcapped mountains. Beyond the ridge, the valley widens as the trail passes through Chorten and finally reaches to Pangka (4480m), the memorable place where an avalanche had taken the lives of 40 people in 1995. From here, the route descends to the riverbank before start steep climbing up to the terminal moraine of Ngozamba Glacier. After crossing the iron bridge over the stream, the trail levels out as it follows the valley pas a second lake, named Longpongo (4690m), where you can see the Lama footprints on stone. A little ahead of the second lake, you will reach the third lake and the Gokyo Village stands by the third lake and Mt. Cho-Oyu as a backdrop sets an amazing spectacular sight here. Gokyo is a small settlement with a glacial lake and some lodges. After lunch at the lodge, you will explore Gokyo Lake enjoying with the surrounding mountains which have been the gem of this region. Today is an acclimatization day, on which day you will explore the surroundings and hike up to fifth lake (Ngozuma Tsho) passing through another forth lake (Thonak Tsho) enjoying the view of Mt. Everest and Cho-yu. Gokyo is not only popular for its grand view but also for the six lakes it hosts. Similarly, you can see the Cho-Oyu base camp and Na-jumpa glacier on to the northern part. Early in the morning, you will hike to Gokyo Ri for the sunrise view and the majestic views of M. Everest, Cho-Oyu, Mt. Makalu and many other mountains. It will be one of the most unforgettable memories of your life. After spending a memorable time in Gokyo Ri, you will retrace back to Gokyo for breakfast. Then the trail descends down to Thangnak passing through the lakes and the glacier. The route offers the beautiful and majestic views of the snowcapped mountains. Thangnak is also pronounced as Dragnag, which is also consider as a base of Cho-La Pass. Overnight stay at Lodge

Today you will wake up early in the morning before the sun rises in order to reach the pass early about 0900 to avoid the bad weather. If you reach later in the afternoon, you may be greatly affected by the strong wind. The pass is not too difficult unless the snow falls but is steep and involves a glacier traverse on the eastern side. As you reach the top, you will be rewarded by the magnificent views. You will trek down to Dzongla with some basic lodges. Overnight stay at Lodge

The trail continues along the moraine of the glacier affording the splendid views of the Kalapatthar and Pumori before you reach Lobuche. This is the last stop before you ascend to Everest Base Camp the next day. Lobuche offers beautiful views of Nuptse, Thamserku and Cholatse peaks. Overnight stay at Lodge

After breakfast in the morning, you will start trekking to Gorakhshep passing through the lateral moraine of the Khumbu Glacier and the pyramid signpost. During the trek, you can get the stunning views of north ridge of Everest, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Pumori, Mt. Mahalangur, Mt. Lingtern, Mt. Khumbutse, etc. Ascending steeply to the top through the Changri Glacier, you will get the first glimpse of Kalapatthar, colored with grey-green, just beneath the Mt. Pumori. Passing through the moraine section, short descend brings you to Gorakshep. Once you reach Gorakhshep, you will find yourself surrounded by the snowcapped mountains including Mt. Everest.
After lunch at Gorakshep, you will continue your journey through Indian army mountaineers' memorials to Everest Base Camp. As you reach Base Camp, you can see the mountaineers and their tents standing with bright colors against the monotony of the gray surroundings. Similarly, you can get the close up view of Pumori, Khumbuste and Nupste. With fulfilling of the dream of your life and the main objective of this trip, you will retrace back to Gorakshep. Early in the morning, you will hike to Kalapatthar that takes about two hours. The trail ascends with the breathtaking views of the Mt. Everest at a stone throw distance including Mt. Pumori and some other peaks. During the hike to Kalapatthar, you can have several pauses on several viewpoints to generate the power with the time to snap great pictures. After a memorable experience, you will head back to Gorakhshep for breakfast and trek back to Pangboche. The trail mostly descends through the same trail until you reach Pangboche (You will follow the different the trail from Dughla to Pheriche). Overnight stay at Lodge

After a wonderful time in Tengboche, you will retrace back to Sanasa, a juction for the trails to Khumjung, Namche and Gorakhshep. From here, trail leads to Khumjung, the largest sherpa village in Khumbu, at foot of the sacred peak Khumbila. From Khumjung we can enjoy the view of Everest. You can also visit the oldest monastery, hospitals etc. Then you will trek down to Kongde village and then to Namche Bazar passing numerous chorten (stone Buddhist monuments. Overnight stay at Lodge

From Namche, the trails descends steeply down to the Dudh Koshi River and then to the dispersed village of Monjo. The trail then turns towards the forests of rhododendron which takes you to Lukla, where you will reconfirm your flight tickets for the next day. Overnight stay at Lodge

After early breakfast we fly back to Kathmandu memorizing those excited and beautiful days. In Kathmandu you can take a rest throughout the day in hotel or you can explore other attractions of Kathmandu. For the memorizing the Nepal trip you can buy some souvenirs for yourself or for friends and family in Thamel Area. Late evening we celebrate the success of our trip and enjoy dinner together.
